Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

hi i live with my mom and i am going to be moving soon we lived in the apartment for ten years and over the years we have put in maintenance request in so they can fix thing but a lot of the request they did noting about or told us there was noting wrong win there was some thing that needed to be fixed so wright now we live in a to bedroom apartment but win i move my mom will move into a 1 bedroom apartment in the apartment complex we live at now so my question is wen we move can they bill us maintenance fees or some thing long that line and is there anything we can do ps my complex is own by professional property management group

It would help if you have written records of these things. I'm sure the management office has records for each unit but who knows how complete they are. If they're "reasonable" after 10 years there's bound to be "wear and tear" and you should have someone come over and do a walk-through with you. That's when you can ask questions and get a sense of what they may hit you with. Because if you can get things taken care of by yourselves, it may save you some.
