Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

I am a tenant scheduled to go to eviction court today and was not able to obtain an attorney. Can I get a continunance? I want to settle but I am afraid my knowledge of the law is very limited and want make sure I am doing the right thing.
