Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Illinois

Hospitalized

Hi, I went to the emergency room in an ambulance for severe pain im my upper abdomen. I just got out of the hospital last Sunday. The docs checked my blood and said it was fine. Anyway they said I had gastritis. He told me I can go home and if I get the pain I just have to deal with it. Before I left the hospital I fell to the floor with pain in my stomach again. Anyway when I got home I started reading about Gastritis. It said it can be caused by alcohol but I rarely drink. And then it said it can be caused by ibuprofen... And now everything made sense. Last year I went to the emergency room in an ambulance for the same thing. But they couldnt find anything wrong. Anyway before I ended up in the hospital I went to walgreens to buy some pain relievers because i had shin splints and the pharmacist told me to take ibuprofen and that I can take 4 at a time. Around the time my shins got better and got out the hospital I stopped taking the pills. This time I had shoulder pain so i started taking 4 pills at a time again. I ended up in the ER again. The pharmacist told me to take 4 and I guess I wasn't supposed to take more than 1 or 2 at a time. Can I take legal action or would I be wasting time and money?

Re: Hospitalized

Hello. The pharmacist appears to have

been giving you advice, but did not say he was a physician. In his capacity as a pharmacist he is not your doctor. Therefore, I do not recommend that you pursue this any further. Will be happy to discuss this issue more and in greater detail.

Re: Hospitalized

Your damages do not warrant the $50,000 plus expesne of a malpractice law suit.
