Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Illinois

Post op patient cohabitating with pneumonia patient

I was recently hospitalized for a lumbar fusion, and they put me in a room with a patient with Strep pneumonia, which is very contagious. Even though I did not come down with the disease, can I file a law suit against the hospital? Thank you..Janice

It is this exact attitude that gives people with serius personal injuries who file a lawsuit a bad name and makes people think that anyone who has a personal injury lawsuit is out there only to make a buck or two and to abuse the system.

You did not come down with any disease. You were not injured as the result of any of the hospital's deeds. There is nothing to sue for. There should not even be a discussion about it. Period.
