fall into unsecured water meter hole

i settle a comp case at 60% of a leg, but now i have a personal injury. the meter was owned by an individual who rented the property. i have been offered $25.000, which i fee is inadequate as i have a permanent disability. an attorney said it would be hard to prove the owner neglgent, is this true? should i ask for a jury to hear the case? is the 25,00 a fair offer? please help

Proving negligence on the part of a landowner for a dangerous or defective condition is a difficult, but not impossible matter. There are many factors involved in such a lawsuit, and an accurate assessment of liability or damages cannot be made without all the details. If an attorney has spoken with you and declined to take your case, I would suggest you seek a second opinion.
