Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

have been contacted by a company called Raven Industries regarding paying back taxes in 06' and now says he is owner of the mobile home I have and he wants me to sign a mortgage agreement with him for 6500. I'm still paying my loan on this place and they had paid my taxes in the past. I am a single mother and he has told me I have to leave if I don't pay him. The tax department also says he now owns the home. Would the mortgage company still hold the lien and I still owe them? Do I owe them both now? I didn't know this was something even possible in this country.

Thank you for your question. Could you perhaps clarify the facts a little bit? You own a mobile home, but presumably owe some sort of property tax on the plot. Raven Industries claims to own the property. The county has stated that Raven is the owner of the property? Is that correct?? If so, my guess is that Raven purchased your property at a county tax sale due to your failure to pay property taxes. There are a number of things we can do here. I am not sure as to why you are paying your mortgage. Is it held through a bank? Please feel free to contact me via email: [email protected]
