Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

My father passed away on May 14,2009 and he left a property loacated in Chicago and the deed is under my name and 2 other sister and we like to recorded the deed with the county. Do you need other documents and how do we go about doing so since we like to sell or rent the home. Please advise!

if the property was in joint tenancy with rights of survivorship you would not have to do anything. If there is some other form of ownership(such as tenants in common)you would have to probate the property

Please clarify what you mean by the deed is in your name and your sisters? Is your father's name on the dded? Who signed the deed? When was it signed? Please repost with more details.
