Property Dispute

I purchased a house with my ex-fiance, he has become abusive & I need to know how I can get out of this! He said he won't buy me out & won't leave! He also stated that if I leave & he lost the house he'd kill me! Help please!!!!

I agree with Mr. Padove; you need a "TRO" or protective order first. That's something that you should consult a family law specialist about. Try your local county bar association (or Chicago Bar Ass'n if you live in the City) to get a referral. Then once your safety is taken care of, you can proceed with a civil legal action (partition? constructive partnership or trust?) Good luck!

You need to speak to a family lawyer regarding the domestic abuse issue. As for the real estate issue, you can sue to partition which would force a sale and division of the proceeds.
