Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

We bought our home in jan of 05. shortly thereafter we were informed that our loan was what we thought be sold to another company. we made maybe 2 payments to them and then our loan was sold again to a bigger bank. we have been with them since. we however are behind on our payments and have been working with the bank to stay out of foreclosure. they have been really great at working with us. yesterday we were served foreclosure papers from the original finance company. We haven't heard anything from them for 2 1/2 years. what do we do?

need a forbearance agreement, chapter 13 bankruptcy or fight the foreclosure.
