Is it legal to drop a realtors commission if I am unhappy with the services?

The commission is a contractual matter. If the contract was completed with the sale of your house, you cannot try to deny the realtor's commission. It does not matter that you were not happy with the services. The title company will pay the commission at the closing from the proceeds of the sale.

It depends on a lot of things, not the least of which is at what stage of the transaction you are at. Remember, in this market buyers are almost impossible to find.
