Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

How to file a trust?

My grandmother has in her will that she is leaving her house to me. Due to medical issues to was suggested she put the house in a trust. Her lawyer has not responded to her in almost 4 months. How can I take care of this? Also how long will the process take? My grandmother does not have long to live.

Re: How to file a trust?

Your question raises many other questions, and without knowing the answers, it is difficult to give you any kind of definitive answer.

Am I to assume that you live in Georgia but your grandmother is in Illinois? Is the property located in Illinois?

Do you know what kind of trust was recommended?

Does your grandmother have other funds to pay for her medical expenses, or is the house her main asset?

With answers to these questions, I will be better able to answer.

Thank you.
