Gifted Estate Money

Can someone request gifted money back?

It has been 5 years since it was gifted.

If money or property was legally gifted, then it is not legally recoverable.

However, if the intent at the time of the money changing hands was that of a loan rather than a gift, it would be recoverable.

If documentation of the transaction exists, it should help to clarify the rights of the parties involved.
