Land Trust

i am one of the trustees on a land trust. can the other two trustees force me to sign off on the sale of the property if I disagree. mother is still living and i am not the executor of the will.

I doubt that it is a land trust which is a unique entity. Unlike regular trusts, the trustee of the land trust has no power to do anything. He serves the holder of the power of direction.

If it is regular trust that happens to have land in it then the terms of the trust will control the power of the Trustees to act if they disagree. Also in control is the mother herself if it is a revocable trust.

I am beginning to wonder about the usefullness of these discussion lists. The questioner is hoping for free legal advice. The answer is always the same: You should have that looked at by an estate planning attorney.
