Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

Siblings can't decide where father should be buried

My mother died two years ago. My father and mother were married for over forty years. My father just died. His three children from a previous marriage want him buried by thier mother. Me and my three siblings from his marriage to our mother want him buried next to our mother. She is buried in a veterans grave in anticipation of him being buried next to her. He was the veteran. We can't agree on where he should go. I feel that he should be buried to my mom whom he was with for over forty years. Their mother died two years before he married our mom and together they had me and my three siblings.

If the Will is silent on this topic then perhaps the executor of the will should decide. However I believe you and all the people involved need to look outside the legal area for help. Seek help and guidance from a counselor or religious representative.
