Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

Wills and Financial Statement

My father has passed away and I am the executor of the will. With the filing of the will, my lawyer wants to submit a 'financial statement' also. Is this necessary or mandatory, I live in Illinois? His assests beside his home (in a land trust to me) are under $50,000. Thank you very much.

Re: Wills and Financial Statement

Submit a financial statement to who? With only $50,000 in assets other than the house there should be no probate. Who has your father left the property to? This should be a simple matter of proper distribution pursuant to the will.
