Re: writs

You can contact a Lawyer practising in the High Court of your state as the same can be done in Maharashtra.

Re: writs

You will need to check if the High Court of your area accepts e-petitions? Please write details of your area / high court so that we may guide you further.

However, depending upon the subject, at times even a letter written directly to the court may be considered as a 'writ petition'. There are a few precedents where the Supreme Court of India and some of the High Court had accepted 'letters' as writ petition.

Secondly, for people who cannot afford litigation costs - expenses and lawyers' fee - there is a STATE LEGAL SERVICES AUTHORITY in every State/District in India. You may send your petition to SLSA and they may file in the court on your behalf and may also assign a lawyer for you.

Re: writs

Your presence in the court is not necessary for filing and proceedings with a Writ Petition. You can engage a lawyer of your choice, or meet a local lawyer who would be able to help you to file a Writ petition in the High Court through a high Court lawyer
