Legal Question in Banking Law in India

post dated cheks

I had enrolled for ICFAI MBA 2 years correspondence program in September 2006 under the monthly EMI scheme.I had issued 18 Post dated checks of Rs4300 plus Rs10000 as advance.

But because of some unavoidable cirumstances I am not able to ontinue the cource.

I Contacted ICFAI regarding the discontinuation of the course but they are saying that there is no provision for that as I had agreed for the same before.I have to pay the amount even if I discontinue the course which I dont want to do.I am not claiming the refund but they are sending me notices.I dont know what to do.Please help.

Re: post dated cheks

you are advised to consult a competent lawyer,ICFAI is not entitled to claim the ammount.Any agreement/contract with minor has no value in the eyes of law and is not binding.

Re: post dated cheks

Give them a notice to that effect what you represented before me and if they do not stop issuing notices to you,you send them a legal notice that you are going to initiate legal action against them.
