Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India

Claim right over the house

The 8-room house we stay in now is my father-in-law's property (not inherited). I have a bro-in-law (unmarried) and sis-in-law (married). My in-laws are harassing us to leave this house. Since I am pregnant, can i claim half the house on my child's behalf? How do I do it?

Re: Claim right over the house

u have all rights to stay in the house as per law. u just need to consult a protection officer of your area and file a case under domestic violence act against your father in law who wants to throw you out of the house. you will get the orders of protection from the magistrate of your area. u need not worry as residence is your right whether the house belongs to your husband or father in law.
