can the validity of action taken by state under subverted constitution be challenged on the ground that the source of power itself is invalid/unconstitutional

The statement you have made is too general and vague. However, validity of an "Action/Decsion" can be challenged on several grounds including but not limiting to the same being unconstitutional and lacking jurisdiction/power; if such grounds are available in the particular facts and situation of a case.
