cheque bounce

sir, i got cheque from one of the hospital management kerala, but drawer stop the payment. i asked party directly. he told me sir, exactly what happended in office i don't know please return the cheque, i will send DD of same amount. i sned cheque after taking xerox copy of cheque. i saked several times but his reply is irresponsible. if i want file the case, it is compulsary to produce original cheque (because i have xerox copy of cheque and original receipt cause of return given by bank).

what can i do?

Criminal suit is not possible.

File a civil suit.

The criminal trial may not be possible without the original cheque, though you may make an efforts.

however, you can surely file a civil suit for recovery of the money without original cheque.
