Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

criminal case vs passport

Hello,

i was accused of some sections such as 420 and 66 IT act and the case is still pending in a lower court without trial for the last two years. Now i want to apply for a passport. Can anyone tell me if i should apply now or wait for the trial and the result of the case since i was framed.

Thanks in advance

Re: criminal case vs passport

It is better if you apply for passport after the cases are over because during police verification the issue of you being an accused will arise and it is likely that passport authorities may reject your application.

You may make your application by disclosing the true and correct information. However, if you are on bail, you may need permission of the court for going abroad.
