Re: Fir

The FIR may be oral or written. You may write a simple letter to the SHO of the concerned Police Station with a copy to the Superintendent of Police of the District concerned.

You may narrate all the facts / events clearly in a chronological order bringing home the offence and the accused persons, if known to you, involved in the case.

Re: Fir

FIR can only be lodged against the offences which are cognizable in nature. Police is obliged under the law to register the complaint made to police officer, in such regrettable eventuality, complaint may be lodged against concerned police officials compelling them to register FIR.

Re: Fir

You can either visit the police station or send written complaint to police.

It is not necessary that is should be on printed format of police.

Letter to police disclosing commission of cognisable offenec/s can be treated as FIR.
