Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

Nude Photos

My friend has few photos of her boyfriend. These are nude pics which the girl took from her mobile. She also have some pics which she took by her cam in intimate stuff. These were with free will of her boyfriend. But is it legally restricted in India? If yes then please advice how to come out of it.

Re: Nude Photos

Yes provided you circulate the photos to other persons. You should consider destroying/deleting the same from your camera

Re: Nude Photos

I really do not understasnd what do you mean by saying "how to come out of it". The nude photographs are in possession of your friend in her mobile / camera and not in possession of her boyfriend. she can antime delete this if she has any apprehension that these photos may be misused agaisnt her. Rather, I feel her boyfriend would be more worried by the factum of his nude photos being in possession of your friend. do you want to know as to whether such nude photographs can be circulated in india then please be informed that it amounts to obscenity and is an offence not only under Section 292, 293, 294 IPC but also an offence under Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act 1986.

You may better consider destroying such material.

Re: Nude Photos

Return those photos to the person whom they belong. Possessing own photo may not be restricted.
