Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

theft

We had visited a town in gujarat some times back.

That time a person had entered our room and stolen

cash money from our luggage.

The only evidence were the footprints of the theif

on a pillow cover.

The manager of the ''dharamshala'' ( religious hotel)

had noticed a suspicious person on the same day.

We launched a FIR with the police and the manager told about the suspicious person.

As per the latest news the person has admitted the

crime to police and returned back some of the money to the police.

The question is what will steps do we have to take now to receive the money back from the police?

WIll there be a court case etc ??

Do we have attend the court over there every now & then ?

Do we have to have our own lawyer ?
