Legal Question in Family Law in India

Help in gathering evidence

My wife and inlaws cheated me about her suicide attempt and depression before marriage by hiding this from me.

How do I gather evidence of suicide attempt before marriage considering my wife and inlaws are not cooperative?

Can I request the court to use RTI act to check all hospital records in a given city during a certain time frame? Does it cost me for this? Is this a practical solution?

Also it seems my wife had a break in her education due to her depression before marriage. Can I request the court to use RTI act to gather evidence from her colleges? Will it cost me?

Re: Help in gathering evidence

it is not for the court to use RTI act for you rather it is you who will be moving an application under RTI to gather information. unless you dont know which hospital she was treated in, it would be almost impossible for u to find records.

Re: Help in gathering evidence

You cannot allege about her ill health after marriage and the court will not do all RTI works.A person can move application under RTI with any Govt./Local Bodies/Corporations but not private colleges or private hospitals,so its all a big waste of searching for whatever you are alleging. If your wife is healthy and fit for a family life then why do you want to bother about whatever happened in her past life. You burn all the doubts in your mind and live happily.
