Re: Knowledge about adoption and change of name thereafter

If you are Hindu, Hindu law will govern your adoption. For this the following procedure be followed.

1) You uncle can only adopt you, if he has no son or grandson alive, and with the consent of his wife.

2) If the first condition satisfies, then your parents can only give your valid adoption to your uncle. If your parents are not alive, then ur lawful guardian can, with the previous permission of the court, give your adoption to your uncle.

3) Satisfying the above condition an adoption deed has to be executed by your lawful guardian in favour of your adoptive parents.

4) In regards to your change of name and address you have to make an affidavit, as provided by your local laws and have to pronounce in the news paper regards the effect. You can then file application to the offices where you want the changes to effect.
