Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India

Water Charges in Chandigarh

I have been living in NAC, Manimajra, Chandigarh as a tenant for the past 1 month. The landlord has asked us Rs 200/- for one month as water charges. Is this reasonable? They have a borewell connection, and the water from the municipality for 4 hrs in a day.

Could someone advise me, if my landlord is charging too much, or if this rate is normal?

Re: Water Charges in Chandigarh

The charge appear to be very reasonable. Moreover, it is contractual. Depending upon the size of building and number of persons using water, the water bill from Chandigarh Administration may be much more.

It is subject to condition in Tenancy Agreement.

I don not find any reason that demand of landlord is unreasonable keeping in view of water charges of municipality.
