Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
I am a 75 year old widow staying with my unmarried daughter who is my youngest child. I inherited the house I am staying in after my husbands death about 4 years back. The house has been self acquired by my husband. I have three other children who all stay seperately for nearly 13 years now - 2 married sons and a married daughter. What rights do my children have over the property while I am still alive? How do i make sure that my children do not get into unneccesary property issues after my death? what are the steps I must take while I can? I want to protect the rights and dignity of my unmarried daughter who has been looking after me after my husbands death and shared responsibilty of looking after my husband and me for nearly 8 years before my husbands death. My sons haven't and do not monetarily support us.

Whether your husband made any Will in your favour?
If there is such a Will, then you became absolute owner of the property. Otherwise, all Class I heirs of your husband namely widow, sons, daughters would became owners having equal shares.
If you are an absolute owner, then you can dispose of the property in favour of your youngest daughter by making a Will and consequent nomination etc.
I agree with Mr. Nahar.
