Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

Amnesty scheme

I was to pay stamp duty under Amnesty scheme but because of lack of information and procuring of documents(b'cos of recent disturbance in Mumbai) from bank I got delayed by few days. When I went to the collector office today, I was told that the scheme is over and I will have to pay stamp duty with 2% penalty per month. can something be done about this.

Re: Amnesty scheme

Since the Government has not extended the limitation of amnesty, therefore one cannot claim it. Appropriate petition may be filed in High Court stating state of emergency and High Court may pass appropriate order keeping in view peculiar circumstances, exercising its inherent powers.
