Legal Question in Tax Law in India

In FY - 2008-09, I had filed ITR on the basis of Form-16 that I had received from my Employeer. But i had not mentioned the Bank interest as income from other sources, because I didn't know the amount deducted from my account. Also Bank has not issued the TDS certificate. Now I found in Form 26AS for FY 2008-09, the TDS amount deducted from my account is mentioned. For that I have to pay the additional Tax (appr. Rs 5000/-) IT department.

Is there any way to correct ITR ?

Can I submit a fresh ITR again?

Are any risk if I will not pay?

You must comply with law. You can file a revised return through a local tax consultant as after filing such return there may be scrutiny hearing by IT department.
