A ppty purchased -rgistered in 1964-65 jointlly inthe name of 2 sisters-one married(A)&other is spinster(B).no demarcation.''B''wants to add name of ''X'';a blood relative alongside. ;to avoide dispute/complications after her death. Q.whether it is possible. if yes how to proceed &stamp duty to be paid etc.?

It is certainly possible either by way of a gift deed if there is no consideration to be recd from X and by a sale deed in case of consideration. the stamp duty depends upon the state where the property is located. It also depend upon the circle rate of the land.

The name of "x" may possibly be added by way of a 'family settlement', or a 'gift deed' to be registered with the local authorities. For stamp duty etc., you may contact the local revenue authorities.
