Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in India

A strip of land on the main road in the heart of the city (owned my late father) which housed a small retail outlet was demolished and acquired by the government authorities along with a number of such establishments in an effort to widen the road.An amount of money in accordance with the applicable rules of land acquisition was also awarded at that time towards compensation. However ,in our case the original document or title deed could not be made available to the authorities as demanded by them to facilitate disbursal of the amount in our favor. The failure in complying with this was entirely due to its(document in original) having lost beyond retrieval.A duly documented copy along with proof of legal heir ship were submitted.Subsequently the awarded amount was transferred and kept with the local Land Acquisition Court. On appearing before the court for solutionl of the grievance by pleader it has now become evident after a number of sittings that the court of law is quite insistent on the production of the title deed in question. In spite of several sittings the issue remains unsolved.Since the lost document is irretrievable, what positive steps could be initiated in realizing the money which is being kept with the land acquisition court?
