Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

Car Title with me and my parents on it-They took away-Can I legally get it back

Last year i purchased a used vehicle when i was 17. I couldnt get a loan so my parents took out a loan and i paid the bank on it. I had made about 8 payments on it when problems arose at home. They took money out of their savings and paid it off so that if i didnt pay then it wouldnt affect their credit. I have been paying them. The title is in both me and my dad's name. I am now 18 and still finishing high school. They took my vehicle without explanation and took it somewhere. Since my name is on the title also can i get some legal action and get it back? I have debts to pay back with a credit card company and am unable to work without transportation. So the question is if both myself and my parents name are on the title can they take away my car?

It's possible that a co-owner of a motor vehicle could legally claim exclusive control of the car. Consider your parents to be partners in this automobile adventure. Then find out why your partners consider you have violated the terms of the partnership. If they don't have a good reason, then you could attempt a small claims case. But it would probably be bad for your long-term prospects in America to be known as a parent-litigator. I reoommend you satisfy their concerns on this occasion, then don't do any more business with them. Keep it professional and deal with a bank. And don't accept any excuses from yourself for not paying your other debts. If you have a job, you can find a way to work without this car. If you don't have a job, you can get one without the car.
