Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

i had a small claims court date in which i did not appear. i have been so stressed out about my husband deploying to iraq and other financal issues i mixed up the dates. i drove all the way from georgia to indiana to go to court. i do not dispute i owe them the money and want to set up a payment plan. what do i do?

Not to worry. Call the court and explain that you misplaced the court documents. Ask for the creditor's phone number or attorney's phone number. You can usually call them and work out a payment plan. Typically the court will issue a default judgment. If you call the court, they will direct you to the preson you need to talk with to set up payment arrangements.
