Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana

Can I get house arrest insted of jail time?

I was arrested for possesion of marijuana less than 30g. I failed to complete my conditional discharge. I'm a full time student and I am also going to drug counseling on my own, and have passed urine screens. Going to jail would interfere with my school and my drug classes. What are the chances that the judge would allow me to serve my 60 days sentence on house arrest?

Re: Can I get house arrest insted of jail time?

Assuming the judge already knew about your schooling before you were sentenced, and further assuming the judge warned you what would happen if you failed to complete your conditional discharge (dirty urine?), what positive action have you undertaken to convince the judge to give you a break? (e.g. voluntary community service, AA/NA attendance, blood donations, etc.)

Give the judge a reason for mercy and you may get lucky.
