Legal Question in DUI Law in Indiana

Can my daughter be jailed?

My daughter pled guilty to DUI. She is set to go back to court for her 'final' hearing before the judge at the end of this month. She was to have had 120 hours of community service and a court-ordered alcohol awareness class completed by that date. She has completed her community service but is currently still involved in the class. It will not be completed by the court date. She will still have several more classes to complete.

Can the judge order her to be jailed due to this? My daughter is a full-time college student, works full time, and got the 120 hours community service completed, without a vehicle at her disposal within the three-month span, but due to scheduling problems wasn't able to get into the class in time....The judge she's up before is notorious for being 'hard'. This is my daughter's first ever time (and last - i hope) being in trouble with the law.

I'm scared to death she'll end up having to quit school if she is unable to attend classes. Thank you so much for your opinion.

Re: Can my daughter be jailed?

When and where is the court appearance? We can appear and get the judge to consider an extension.
