Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

My daughters father & I have joint custody of her. When we split up I wanted him to have legal rights to his daughter as well so we got joint custody and this was 18 months ago. I've been working nights and on top of that I haven't had a place for her to sleep in that time so she's been spending her days with me and nights with her father and grandmother. I heard last week that because she technically lives with her dad he is considered the custodial parent and I am the non-custodial even though we have joint custody. Is this true?

All custody questions are answered by your decree. This schedule could justify that determination if the issue was before the court.
