Legal Question in Immigration Law in Indiana

My Stepdaughter and Grandson from Thailand are here in Indiana visiting. They have a 6 month visa and they have about two months to go on the visa. Because of a shoulder injury my wife and I have not been able to take them to many of the places that we had planned to take them. We would like to take them out west to see several of the sites out there. I would like to know if it is possible to get their Visas extended to give us more time to travel. Also if they return to Thailand how long do they have to wait before they can come back to the USA. Thank you for your help.

They can file Form I-539 to request an extension of a B-2 admission. However, it may not be approved, so they need to make sure they do not stay more than 179 days beyond their current admission period or they will be barred from re-entry for 3 years!

If they overstay their admission period by a month or two, then they can re-enter the U.S. at a later date without having to wait any specific period of time, as long as their B-2 visas are still valid & were issued for multiple entries.
