Legal Question in Employment Law in Indiana

My employer is a major hospital in Indianapolis and has placed me on suspension without pay because a Dentist who is doing an anesthesia fellowship accused me of speaking to him like my subordinate (I am only a tech) which I did not, when I informed him that his pediatric patients are supposed to be on fluid limiting IV sets to prevent to much fluid from infusing into the patient. He said I put his patient at risk of a prolonged emergence from anesthesia becasue while I was changing his pediatric patient's IV tubing to a fluid limiting reservoir that all pediatric patients are supposed to be on, he did not have access to give emergent drugs if needed. He never raised a concern to me while I was doing this or stopped me. Nothing happened to the patient other than it added extra minutes on to the surgery case length while I exchanged the tubing. How can I stop this docotr from getting me fired for something I did not do and he himself was negligent in not stopping me if he was so concerned for his patients safety. I believe his ego was hurt because he feels I should not be telling him of correct practices when he is a doctor and I am not. I feel this is discriminatory behavior. I know Indiana is an "at will" state, but this is unjust. Thank you.

There is probably a policies and procedures manual that sets forth the protocol for contesting his charges. You should obtaion a copy and contact a local attorney.
