Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

estate will

My grandmother recently died. She appointed my uncle as executor of her will. He did not approve of what the lawyer told him had to be done, so he'fired' the lawyer. Is this possible? How can my mother be sure the will is going to be followed, since she has not been included in any decisions? Are there laws or family rights if the executor decides he wants to make his own decisions rather than what has been stated in the will?

Re: estate will

If the benericiaries or other persons with a legal interest in the estate believe the executor is misbehaving, then they can ask the probate court to remove that executor. All interested persons are entitled to see the will and see a copy of the inventory, which has to be filed in 60 days.

Re: estate will

Your mother can petition the court to remove your uncle as Executor if he is violating any fiduciary duties.
