Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Indiana

Supervisor dating employee

As an owner of a company I recently found out that my plant mgr is dating a line supervisor. He has been given a week off before for having a relationship with another employee. Am I leaving myself open for problems if I let it continue? What legal problmes could come back on me? Is there anything I can do to allow them to date? Does having them both sign something saying it's consentual help me at all?

Re: Supervisor dating employee

Consistency is the key. If you have a policy, follow it. I would, at the least, call the other employee into the office and discuss the matter with her. If they are going to continue to have a relationship and this relationship is against the company policy, you have to decide what you want to do. I can tell you it isn't something you're going to get all your answers on from a BB on the internet. Most lawyers are not going to want to give you any real definitive answers because there are too many variables and unknowns here. Suggest strongly you vist w/a lawyer and discuss your options so you know for sure where you stand. Most attorneys will charge you somewhere between $50 to $200 for a consultation. I think in this instance, it would be worth doing.
