Legal Question in Business Law in Iowa

2 years ago, I opened an account at Verizon with 5 lines of cellphone, because I didn't have an SSN, they asked me for deposit for 400 dollars each line which add up to 2000 in total. I have every payment that's made to verizon wireless whenever I made a payment there was an email that's sent from verizon system to me with the amount of payment, date, and ending number of the card that was made the payment. In one of the emails, I got one deposit, which is 400 dollars, applied to the account because of the lack of payment in that period of time. I also got a check with 400 dollars last year and since then, I haven't got the rest of the deposit back. When I call their customer service, they told me that all the deposit were sent back to me last year, I know that's not true not only because I know all the deposit is not possible consider there was one deposit applied to my balance, but also the fact I only got one check back. They refused to give the rest of the deposit back and insisted that they've already sent them to me because that's what their system shows. Can I sue them for that? How much is the chance I'm going to win the case? Can I ask court that they pay all the cost that involved in the suing process? Thank you!

Yes you can sue them. If the amount is under $5,000 you can sue them in small claim's court.
