Legal Question in Health Care Law in Iowa

I had injured my knee the fall of 2009,m I went to see an orthopedic surgeon and he ordered a MRI of my right knee, telling me he believed it to be torn ligaments and such. MRI comes back and he claims it is clean, just a severly bruised bone. I have never fallen or had an injury that would cause a bruise. I went back a month and a half later with the pain continually getting worse. I had to move out of my home on third floor due to not being able to walk up the stairs. Which I eventually lost and now owe money on. I have had to postpone school after having to quit the last semister I was in. Thisthird appointment he then told me it was bursitis of the knee, gave be a shot a large dose of pain med and sent me home to recover, including physical therapy. The pain was to harsh for the P.t. and persisted to get worse. I went into my previous surgeon(from a shoulder injury) he asid it was folded muscle under my knee, gave me a shot. But he requested my MRI from previous doctor. The doctor has now sent 3 blank discs to my new doctor as well as made me pay for a blank CD. This has been a 15 month battle. What can I do to get what I have paid a large amount of money to have done??

That really doesn't sound like a legal question to me.
