Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kansas

A judge will garnish my wages due to a criminal restitution can i challege this. The money they are asking has nothing to do with the crime that was commited. I will never be able to pay the amount. I want to know can I go to court to lower amount or contest.

If you were convicted of a crime, you may be able to appeal that conviction. You have avery short time after conviction to do this. If you plead to acrime, you may be able to get the that set aside if done quickly. As to teh garnishment itself, you may be limited in how to prevent the money from being taken from you wages. There are a few ways, but they are too complicated to describe here. Go see a;awyer in your area to go over your situation with you. You might be able to make a payment arrangment with the State or whoever is to get teh money, in lieu of wage garnihsment.
