Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kansas

My daughter is in jail in Seward county ks. She has been there since September 21, 2013. Her attorney hasn't been to see her, she had her preliminary hearing scheduled for October 31, they scheduled it with the wrong judge. She now doesn't go to court until January 8, 2014. She also had a UTI when she went in, she's been complaining her back hurts, I talked to a jailer on Monday, October 21 and they have not even mentioned taking her to thd doctor. Do we have any legal recourse in any of this?

You can probably visit her to assess her well being yourself. It sounds like you might need to hire a different attorney for her. Six weeks seems like a long time not to see a client. She might wonder what she is paying her present attorney for. If she is sick, she might want to have her attorney do a Habeous motion or seek a Bond.

Good luck
