Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kansas

A registered sex offender in Kansas has been charged with criminal sodomy and child rape which will go to trial in Jan 2014. Before he was arrested and currently, he continues to live with the mother of the victim and her other 2 children (one of which is his child). She knew he had an arrest warrant but did not report him. I have 2 questions.

1. Could she be in trouble for living with him and not reporting him when she knew he had an arrest warrant.

2. Is it ok that she continues to live with him and her other 2 children. The victim was removed from the home(female age 8). Her other 2 children are boys approx. ages 6 and 4.

If he was a fugitive, and she did some act to conceal his presence, or she is a police officer, she might get on some trouble for not reporting his whereabouts. Otherwise, she probably had no obligation to report him, or prohibition from living with him. As for your second Queston, the oracular facts of the case will determine the propriety of living with him.

Good luck
