Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Child support/custody

I pay child support in the State of Kansas (court order). It seems as though my son's mother moved to Kansas City, MO side of town and started collecting welfare. She hasn't transferred her case till this day. The State of Missouri is trying to collect money from me, but I don't see why I owe them anything since I am providing all and more than my court order from Kansas asks for. She was apparently receiving both benefits at the same time. I have given Missouri my court order number from Kansas and referred them to a chid support supervisor and they still bug me.What should I do?

I would like to get custody put in my court order? I try to see my son as much as possible but the mother doesn't want me to be a part of his life. He visits my parents all the time. What kind of custody do I have a chance at getting when I take this to court?

This message was erroneously sent to me, a Mississippi attorney. However, I didn't want to just not respond. Hopefully you will receive a reply from attorneys in Kansas and/or Missouri. Good luck.
