Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Kansas

My husband died without a will. I was sole beneficiary of all insurance policies and retirement. Our house, vehicles and bank accounts were in both our names. Do I have to settle the estate and are my stepchildren entitled to anything?

If any of the stepchildren are minors, they are certainly entitled to a portion of the estate. If they are all adults, it depends upon how your ex planned his estate. You should consult directly with an attorney that has access to ask you for more information.
