can someone receive a warrant from a sherriff because of a bankruptcy

The short answer is NO. The Sheriff can come with a seizure warrant arising out of a collection case. A bankruptcy filing will stop such seizure, at least until the bankruptcy court can consider the situation, the debtor's exemptions, etc. Of course, if the Sheriff is not aware of the bankruptcy filing, he may proceed to execute the seizure warrant. If that happens, your lawyer needs to get involved right away.
