Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kentucky

Repossesion of a car

Had a car repossesed and sold at auction to repay the lender. Car did not sell for full amount, lender wrote the debt off, but collections are still trying to strong-arm me into repaying what was written off, am i obligated legally to re-pay this? Car purchased in Texas, I live in Kentucky.

The "writing off" of a loan is an accounting term and has nothing to do with your legal liability to pay the debt.
